Raufoss Chassis Technology (RCT), whose activities are organized in the legal companies Raufoss Technology AS, Raufoss, Norway with subsidiaries Raufoss Automotive Components Canada LP (RACC) and Raufoss North America Inc, USA (RA NA) develops and manufactures light weight aluminum chassis suspension components to General Motors (GM) global Epsilon platform in Europe (OPEL Vectra, Signum, Station wagon and SAAB 9-3 Sedan and Cabrio) and in North America (Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac Grand Am MY 2005 and Saturn MY2006) .
RCT has been part of the Norwegian Raufoss ASA Group who on July 1st 2004 has signed a sale contract with Austrian Neuman Aluminium to take over RCT as per July 1st 2004. This transaction is part of the Raufoss ASA divestment program launched in 2002.
RCT has 2004 expected sales revenue of € 45 mill increasing during 2005/06 till approx. € 60 mill when all car lines are in full production. RCT employs 80 employees in Norway and 70 employees in Canada.
RCT has developed differentiating innovative technologies with aluminium PreFormForge and aluminium ExtruFormÒ giving RCT competitive advantages as a specialized aluminium automotive components supplier.
Neuman Aluminium is a world market leader in aluminium impact extrusion parts and slug production and is a specialized producer of aluminium direct extrusions. CAG Holding, which is owned by Dr. Cornelius Grupp (a German-Austrian Industrialist), holds Neuman Aluminium to 100%.
Total group revenue is approx. € 800 mill. ,and the group has some 5000 employees.
Neuman Aluminium with total sales of approx. € 200 mill per year has nine production plants in Europe, North America and China serving the automotive and the packaging industry.
In acquiring Raufoss Chassis Technology, with its plants in Norway and Canada, and combining the know how of aluminum impact and direct extrusion with aluminum forging and advanced extrusion bending, the combined group will be able to improve its position with the automotive industry and create new opportunities for aluminum systems and solutions.
Raufoss Chassis Technology coming from the innovative ”Aluminum Automotive Valley ” of Raufoss in Norway will benefit from the new ownership and improve its future growth potentials.
